A connection is one bank, however many accounts it holds. Your plan covers your whole household, not each person — so if two of you share a Simple Budget, one subscription is all you need.

Why bank syncing is the paid part
Tavera Money uses Plaid to connect to your bank, and Plaid bills us per linked account, every month, for as long as it stays connected. It's the only cost in the product that scales with how much you use it — a budget, a goal or a thousand manual transactions cost us essentially nothing.
So rather than paywall the budgeting features and pretend, we put the price exactly where the cost is. If you're happy importing a CSV from your bank each month, the free plan is genuinely all you need, and we're glad to have you on it.

Before you pick a plan
Why do the paid plans cost what they cost?
Bank connections are the one part of Tavera Money with a real per-customer cost — our bank data provider bills us for roughly every account you link. That is the entire reason Plus and Premium exist. Every budgeting feature is on the free plan because it costs us nothing extra to give it to you.
Do I need a paid plan to use Tavera Money properly?
No. Basic is a complete budgeting app: accounts, transactions, categories, budgets with rollover, goals, debts, recurring bills, the month-end recap, household sharing and CSV import and export. The paid plans add one thing — connecting your banks so transactions arrive without typing.
What counts as one bank connection?
One connection is one bank, no matter how many accounts sit behind it. If your bank gives you a checking account, a savings account and two credit cards, that is one connection, not four.
Is the subscription per person or per household?
Per household. If you and your partner share a Tavera Money, one subscription covers both of you, and the bank connection limit applies to your combined total rather than to each of you separately.
What happens if I downgrade or cancel?
Your account stays open on the free Basic plan and you keep everything you have created. If your new plan covers fewer banks than you have linked, the ones over the limit are disconnected — and we tell you which before you confirm. You choose whether those accounts stay as manual ones with all their history, or go.
Do you sell my data to make up the difference on the free plan?
No. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, on any plan, and there is no advertising anywhere in Tavera Money. The free plan is subsidised by the paid plans, which is the whole point of having them.
Can I export my data if I decide to leave?
Yes, on every plan including the free one. You can export all of your transactions and your full day-by-day balance history as CSV files at any time.
Is my bank login safe?
Your bank credentials are entered with Plaid and never reach Tavera Money. We receive a token, which is encrypted at rest on our servers, and that access is read-only — Tavera Money cannot move money.
